Well, I've obviously taken a little hiatus, eh? We're actually expecting baby #4 in early December and this pregnancy has been kicking my hiney! I've been REALLY sick and just been doing a whole lot of nothing except cooking this baby! ;)

I decided to close my shop at ScrapMatters in June, which was not an easy decision but it's something that had to be done. I just can't devote the time to designing and helping out with the site that I was before this pregnancy.

Since closing up my ScrapMatters shop I have had a lot of people ask about my fonts and if they'll be available again so I've decided to try and sell them here on my little bloggy. You may have noticed a few of them over there in the sidebar. Now, please take note that I really don't have any idea what I'm doing here. This is a test run! The fonts are all $2.00 and available through Paypal. After I receive your payment I will email you the font file. I hope that's how it will work anyway! If for some reason you don't hear from me after you've paid for a font please email me at jenihopewelldesigns(at)gmail(dot)com and I will get it to you ASAP!

In other news, I'm still on GG Digital Designs Creative Team. Leslie was so sweet and patient with me while I couldn't do much, but I'm back to scrapping a little and she has some CUTE new products out - even a new freebie! Here are the latest pages:

Close though! We recently made the decision to homeschool and so that has been taking the bulk of my time. It's going well and I finally feel like I'm getting into the groove of things so hopefully I'll be back with a new release soon. I've got a cute new font out today (my favorite yet!) but first there are a couple of fun things I want to tell you about.

I've also got a new font out today! Kari (of iKari Designs) asked me to turn her handwriting into a font and I am so in love with it! She's got some really cute doodles in it. It's definitely my new fave!

If you've always wanted to turn your handwriting into a font to use on your pages or letters or anything then this service is for you! It's super easy and pretty quick and totally FUN! It's also a great gift for teachers or friends! Check it out!

And lastly, Brianne has a new kit out today! Yay! She is so good with the boys kits and there definitely aren't enough of them out there.

New Fonts!

Hey there everyone! Sorry I've been MIA. I've been feverishly working on tons of new fonts! Here's what's new today:

This next font is ScrapMatters' own MickeyB's super cute handwriting. I really like her unique printy and scripty style.

This is a totally fun font perfect for titles or alphas. It's hard to see in the preview but it's also been grunged up a little.

And here's the cuteness I released over the last couple of weeks but forgot to blog about! (Bad, bad designer!)

This next one is my handwriting done with a Sharpie - hence the name "With a Marker." Ha ha ha!

This font is one of my favorites! Very neat and comes with lots of cute doodles!

See, I told you I was BUSY!!! So that's what I've been up to and I'm sure there are more on the way! Maybe someday soon I'll actually get to put a kit together again. I've got a few ideas I just need to find the time to make them. See you next week!

The Big Day

I have been working *feverishly* all week to get this stuff together and I'm so happy that Friday is finally here! I'm so excited to show you all these new releases, but first I have to brag on Denise Beatty for a sec. Check this out:

I just love it!!!! I could look at it all day, it's so stinkin' cute. There is NO ONE better at banners and blinkies than Denise. Seriously. Have you seen my lame-o attempts at blinkies? S-A-D. Denise rocked this banner and she deserved some serious thanks - so thank you Miss Denise!!!

And now for my MOST exciting news - my newest venture!

I dabbled with creating fonts about a year ago and only made 4 or 5. Since then one of my fonts (Brianne's Hand) has seriously taken off and become quite popular in the commercial arena. It has been used in a published novel, on billboards, a website, other ad campaigns, and even on TV! How cool is that? I really enjoyed making those few fonts, but after my old computer died with the font making program on it I kind of forgot about it until recently with all this commotion with Brianne's Hand came up. I decided that it was time to make some fonts again! And now you can have your very own handwriting turned into a font too. I love that my digital pages can be journaled in my own handwriting like all of my paper scrapped pages were.

So there are two options up there. The first one (the cheaper version) is non-exclusive which means after I make your font I reserve the right to sell it in my shop and/or use it for advertising or whatever. The exclusive version is for those of you who want that font all to yourself - you retain all the rights to the font. It's a really easy process and pretty quick too! If you're up for a little searching in the SM forum you might just find a coupon for 15% off my NON-exclusive font service too!

A few of the awesome CT gals at SM let me use their handwriting to make some new fonts for today's debut too! Can you stand some more new stuff? LOL

We're doing a "paradise" theme this year and my idea of paradise is me, lots of chocolate, an empty house, and my laptop. Nope, not the beach. I really don't enjoy sand covering everything and how the saltwater just makes you feel sticky. So, yeah, my idea of paradise is just hanging out at home! I'm pretty easy to please - LOL! My husband and I did take a little trip to a place some would call paradise (but NOT me) a few years ago. It was an interesting experience to say the least but we did have a lot of fun with our friends and just experiencing everything together. Here's a page I made about that trip to the Dominican Republic.

Just like the title says, it's all about family today with my new kit, {Family Ties}. That name makes me think about Alex P. Keaton - anyone else? LOL

I'm ready for some springtime around here and this kit shows it! Lots of glitter too. Have you noticed I've become a little obsessed with it lately? It's just fun to make and looks pretty. Yes, I'm easily distracted by shiny things - LOL! So, of course, I've got some coordinating glitter styles.

Also sort of new this week is a past speed scrap participation prize. A fun pack of charms and lots of attachments. VERY versatile. These attachments can be used for just about anything!

Aren't they fabulous?! I'm so lucky to be associated with ScrapMatters and all the awesome people there. I just love it!

Well, now for the freebie. I don't know how many of you have been following this thread at DST but there seems to be some NASTY stuff out there at 4shared, which makes me really wary of posting a freebie. BUT, I'm absolutely positive that none of my stuff has viruses and most of the stuff you download from 4shared probably doesn't either. It's all the ads and garbage that come along with using 4shared. I also wondering if part of the problem may be all the crazy widgets people have on their blogs. Be very careful of those third party widgets (like the music players and stat counters and maps.) You have no idea what's really there. I haven't had any problems with any viruses or other junk from there but I also don't download a ton of freebies - very rarely actually. I have Vista on my laptop and that's supposed to help but I'm not positive about that. I also have the paid version of AVG, use Firefox with the No-Script and AdBlock Plus add-ons. Everything is updated several times a day and I scan my computer often. THIS IS SOMETHING WE ALL SHOULD BE DOING. Sorry for the rant, I just want to let everyone know that I will still be using 4shared (only for the lack of a better alternative - although I'm still searching for it!) and I think it's safe to use 4shared as long as you are protecting yourself. This isn't just a 4shared problem - it's an internet problem and if you are using the internet it could happen to you.

My stinkin' laptop died AGAIN and so I was gone for a little bit. I have completely had it with that laptop so I went and got myself a new one. Good thing I've been saving my piano lesson and designing pennies for a while (I knew this would happen sooner or later!) I think the problem with the old lappy was that it only had 1 GB RAM on it and while researching new laptops I found that Vista needs at least 2 GB RAM to even function properly. Then I'd try and run Photoshop on top of that - it just wasn't strong enough to handle it all. No wonder I had so many problems with it!!! Stupid computer makers - why the heck would you sell a computer with Vista installed and only 1 GB RAM if it's not going to work? Grrrrrrrrr.

Anyway - sorry for the rant. I do have actual digiscrapping things to post about too! First of all I want to reveal my Black Friday grab bag. Everything's now available in the store separately.

I've been so busy this week my poor little crafty blog has been a bit neglected. But no more! I've got a new release and a FREEBIE for you. A few months ago I was asked to teach a digital scrapbooking class at my church and the lady who asked me to teach knows I design so she asked if I could make a little kit to give away to everyone who attended the class. I thought it was a great idea, and here's the result! I ended up making it a full kit so that the ladies I taught would have lots of things to play with and experiment with. The class went well and I just hope they learned something useful.

I'm going to start put all my new releases on sale for the first three days they're released, so be sure to grab it while it's only $3.50! The alpha is also sold separately, which I think is really versatile! Great for boys too and definitely one I'll use often.

It's finally feeling like fall around here - yay! I'd much rather be cold than hot! Even had to pull out the big coats for the kiddos to go to school this morning. This Halloween kit is great! Here's what I did with it:

Isn't Ryley the CUTEST pirate EVER?!!! Maddie was a bride and beautiful as always! Ryley still has this costume and put it on the other day - so hilarious. Josh said he looked like he belonged in the Russian Ballet or something. He's grown a little since we bought that costume for him!!!!

The new freebie this month is {Football Frenzy}

I must admit I have absolutely NO INTEREST WHATSOEVER in anything even remotely football related, but I think this kit is really versatile and so cute! I used for a soccer LO for Ryley by using the soccer ball out of GG's {When Daddy Comes Home} kit (it also has a basketball!) All her things work so well together - I love that!!!

She also has some new element packs out. The metal "soccer" on my LO above is from {Metal Minis - Sports} and there's a Halloween pack too. So much cuteness over there!!!

I've just been notified that my {Jeepers Creepers Add-on} doesn't have the white paper in it! Sheesh! So sorry for the mix-up. Here is the updated link:

Oh! And I've got my computer back - yay! So I can finally upload my little project.

I totally got this idea from one of my CT friends over at GG Digital Designs, Megan. I don't think she's posted her adorable project yet but when she does I'll link it up so you can see it. Sooooo cute!!

I just got some unfinished wooden letters from Michael's, painted them black, printed out my papers and glued the paper on using Mod Podge. I traced the letters on the paper and then cut them out with scissors about 1/4'' from the line before I glued them on and then trimmed the paper with an X-Acto knife after the glue was dry. I then sanded the edges of my paper and the letters to distress it a little. I didn't put another layer of Mod Podge over the top of the letters. They were glued down good enough. I then took little pieces of ribbon and stapled the ribbons to the letters so they could hang together. I tied a knot in the top ribbon so I could hang the whole project up. I also found some cute little Halloween buttons in my stash and glued those on with some googly eyes and some more ribbons. I love it and it was sooooo easy! It took less than half a day - but that includes all the drying time!

Yay, it's Friday! I'm happy to say we made it through our first week of school! The kids did great and love their new teachers. Cash and I had so much fun just hanging out together in the QUIET. It's been a GREAT week!

Nothing major going on 'round here. Just trying to hold on to my sanity until next week when the kids will FINALLY go back to school. Then I'll only have one at home!!!! Ahhhhhh, I can almost hear the peace and quiet now.

Yippeee!!! It's finally here! The Grand Re-Opening of ScrapMatters!

Speed Scrappin'

Yes, I'm alive. I know you're shocked! Doing the Daily Download at ScrapMatters has been keeping me very busy, plus I'm stressing out about going on vacation this week and everything that goes along with it.

On to more pleasant things. . . I'm so addicted to the speed scraps at SM! They are so fun and I always end up loving my LO. Maybe it's because I don't have to think of everything myself. I guess I do better work when someone's telling me what to do? I dunno. Anyway, here are my last two:

In other news, I'm closing up shop at Snap and Scrap. I've really enjoyed my time there, but I really need to have a little less stress in my life right now. I LOVE being on the SM CT and DT and also on GGDigital Designs CT so the only thing left to go was Snap and Scrap. I'm sure they'll live without me! : ) I did learn a lot from them and met some really great people. It was great!

Well, we're off to Disneyland this week. That is if the kids make it there alive! We're driving! I don't think it will be too bad though. We're breaking it up over 2 1/2 days with a stop at the Grand Canyon so hopefully we'll all make it there alive. I'll be taking my laptop with me and should be able to get internet access the whole time, but I'll probably only be online to do the Daily Download and check emails until we get back after the 29th. Wish us luck!!

New Schtuff!!

Wow! It's been a fun week but also a BUSY one:

This kit is very patriotic in color but it's also very versatile and perfect for any layout. And it's HUGE! I could have gone on forever making stuff for this kit - so many ribbons, so little time - but I finally stopped myself and I really LOVE it! Lots of fun stuff in here and it's only available at ScrapMatters!

I am really loving acrylic stuff so I made a set of a bunch of elements - pretty much in every shape I could think of! A lot of these things are actually really big so that you can resize them to fit your need! And there are two of everything too - a shadowed and an unshadowed element for each shape! Woo hoo!

Okay, well I guess this isn't totally new but I did manage to put it together this week! I've been meaning to do it for a while now. This is the alpha from my first kit "On The Playground." It's a fun sparkly sticker alpha. I just love sparkles!

And of course, new releases wouldn't be the same without a freebie!! So here ya go! I wanted to do something more patriotic for my All-American Kids kit. Included are two papers, 3 glittery stars, 1 star rub-on, 1 firecracker doodle, 1 fireworks doodle, 1 wordart, and 1 tag. Wow! That's a whole little mini-kit, you lucky ducks! Speed Scrap

Whew! I just finished another Speed Scrap over at SM! This one was in the middle of the day and it was MUCH harder to do one with all the kids around me than I thought it would be!!! Luckily Cash got put to bed so I was able to finish! Here's the final product that I managed to post about 5 minutes before the deadline. Whew!

Well, now all I have to do is finish *ahem*, I mean START on some cards for cardswap tonight, work on my new collab (coming soon!) and finish the blog freebie for tomorrow! Sheesh! Not enough hours in the day, I tell ya! At least Maddie's gone swimming with a friend and Ryley is occupied by the PS2 while Cashy is sleepin' so I might be able to get something done!

First, ScrapMatters is having TWO speed scraps this week! There have been some requests to do a daytime one for those who live outside the US so that it can be an evening one for them. Make sense? Anyway, the first will be on Tuesday, June 24th at 9 p.m. Central Time (Texas time) and the other one will be on Thursday, June 26th, at 12 noon Central Time. You can do one or the other or both! If you just do one there is a cute little mini-kit participation prize by Ellie Lash and if you do both you'll get to chose one of Andilynn Designs What's Hanging kits. Both are SUPER cute and you can get all the information about the speed scraps and see the kits you'll get here.

Isn't this nice? A beautiful blog courtesy of Shabby Miss Jenn. I have struggled with making my blog cute for as long as I have had it and so I finally caved today and bought an SMJ blog kit (along with a few of her other goodies - who can resist, really?!) They are soooooo cute and even come with instructions. There is also a VERY helpful video on her website that helped immensely. Lots of coding and lots of "grrrrrr-ing" but it's finally done. Thank heavens the kids were in bed and that Josh is out of town so no one had to hear me cursing at the darned computer! : )

Tutorial and LOTS of other stuff

Hey everyone! Did you catch the Speed Scrap last night? I did! It was really fun and LOTS of people participated. Half the fun was searching through all the random comments to find the instructions. Sheesh!! I saw a couple of familiar faces there. That was nice too! Here is my final result:

We HAD to use a flower so that kind of threw me, but I like the end result. I mostly used Miss Mint's FREE kit this month {Wild Weekend}. Notice the little clear date button? Hmmmm. Could be a sneaky peek of something coming on Friday right there.

I also just finished posting a tutorial over on the SM blog. Check it out here. I ended up making a paper bag album for Father's Day for my hubby. I used GG Digital Designs {When Daddy Comes Home} kit and GG's stitching packs 1 and 2. Two of my friends and other CT members for GG let me use their quick pages to make the book. I owe them a HUGE thank you!!!! One of the girls, Rhonda, made her Quick Pages into a mini album available in the GG store here. So cute!! I think she's making a blanket out of these for her hubby. How cool is that? Anyway, here's the finished paper bag book.

I feel like I haven't posted anything for my CT's lately so here are a few things I've worked on for them.

GG Digital Designs has a super cute new freebie kit out this month called {Rock-a-Bye Baby} and here's what I made with it.

Here's another page I made with a GG kit called {Flower Girl}. Can you tell I LOVE being on her team? I seriously LOVE all of her stuff. There is nothing I wouldn't use in some way. It's all so cute! I made this page for the Template Tuesday challenge at SM. It's a FREE template by Britt-ish Designs. Can't go wrong with anything from Britt either! I also used a fabric tag from Britt and Mira Designs collab kit {Crazy Little Thing Called Love}.

Here's another page I just finished that I really like. I used {Distressed Frames} {Grids Clean Paper} and {Wrinkled Black Alpha} all by Dirty Feet Designs at ScrapMatters. It also has a ribbon from {I'm A Dreamer} by Britt-ish Designs and some other stuff by me.

There is also a new collab kit out at ScrapMatters by Andilynn Designs, Happy Scrap Girl, and SHARIng Creations called {Refresh}. Lots of fun summery colors - really cute. Here's what I did with it.

Next week at Snap and Scrap we'll be spotlighting Mel Wilson's new kit {Dinner Party}. This kit is so gorgeous!!!! I haven't had a chance to play with it yet, but as soon as I do I'll be back to post my LO. Check it out here.

Holy moly that was a huge post!!! That's what happens when you spend all your time playing with CS3 and not being a good blogger. Yes, I finally got PSCS3!!! Woo hoo!!!! I ended up getting it from Amazon.com from the new & used section for about $200 and it's brand new. I don't know if it "fell off the back of a truck" or why it was so cheap. I emailed the seller and he said that he buys like 5000 at a time and that's why he can sell them so cheap. I don't know. It was brand new and in the factory packaging. I was able to register it and I've done an update already. The price changes just about everyday on Amazon so I just kept checking it. It was usually around $300 so when I saw it for $200 I jumped on it. Luckily I'd just finished piano lessons for the year and everyone had paid me on time so I actually had the money already. I was worried that it was going to be really hard to use and figure out, but it's almost exactly the same. There are more tools and things I don't know how to use yet, but mostly it's better. I love it! I just need to get better at saving things as I'm working on them because I've had it crash a few times. Grrrrr. I think I just had to much stuff going on that it had to shut down. I've been tagged several times now by different people!! I just keep putting it off because I am way too boring to do this!!! I'll try really hard to think of some stuff though:

1. I used to have a weenie dog named Winnie who was spoiled rotten and horribly mean to everyone except me. Then I had Maddie and she wasn't very nice to me anymore either! We had to give her away - to a nice old lady who could continue to spoil her.
2. I have more rubber stamps (mostly from Stampin' Up!) than any one person should be allowed to have. It's sad really - especially since I haven't touched them in a quite a while (too busy digiscrapping!)
3. I love music and play the flute. I started when I was in 4th grade and played it all the time up until we moved to Texas my junior year in high school. I tried band here for a week but it was way too much about the marching and not enough about the music. They wanted me to stand outside everyday for a week in AUGUST in TEXAS and march on the BLACKTOP of the high school parking lot. And that's all we did!!! So incredibly insane. Someone passed out from the heat everyday. Needless to say I quit after about 2 days of that insanity. Which brings me to number four. . .
4. I am not a "let's go outside" kind of person. I'd much rather be inside in the nice air conditioning where you don't have to be all yucky and sweaty.
5. I am the oldest of five children and pretty bossy. Just ask my siblings.
6. I am totally addicted to digi-scrapping, obviously. I originally started this blog for my crafty projects, hence the name "Crafty Blog." That was about a month before I got into digiscrapping, back when I did other actual craft projects (like stamping and stuff!)
7. I love to play Guitar Hero, which is something else I haven't done in quite a while because of digi!

Sheesh! That took forever! I'm not going to tag anyone by name, but if you haven't been tagged and want to play please do!! : )

The Toy Box

Here's my new kit - only available at Snap and Scrap!

It's full (seriously FULL) of fun sparkly and doodly elements just like from my kids' toybox! Lots of fun and bright colors. I had so much fun making this kit and using it!

And because I have such awesome friends who will tell me when I've left something out I made a little freebie for you! (click on the image to download)

I don't know how I forgot, but I left out the dash from the alpha so here it is. I also added some more textured solid cardstocks - one in each color. There's also another notepaper journaler, a bookplate, and arrow photo turn, a brad, and an acrylic star tag. I am loving acrylic (watch for a cool little acrylic something coming soon!) but it can be hard to shadow. Check out Jessica Sprague's blog here for step by step instructions on shadowing acrylic things. She is so awesome!!!

Another Speed Scrap

Just wanted to let you all know that ScrapMatters will be having another Speed Scrap Tuesday, June 3, at 8:00 p.m. Central Time. Check out this thread in the SM forum for more info. They are so fun! I don't think I'll be able to make it to this one either, I just realized! Jordan's graduating from High School tomorrow night. Dang it! Maybe I'll just take my laptop to graduation and play along from my seat - he he he. I couldn't do it last week either - oh well. There'll be lots more. And I already have the participation prize . . . . because guess who created it for this week? Yup - yours truly! Here's a preview of what you'll receive just for scrapping a page!!

Here's my debut kit at ScrapMatters - called {On The Playground}

Do you ever see one of your kids' shirts or something and think, "That would make a great background paper!" I do, all the time! Okay, so I'm a huge nerd that's totally addicted to scrapping, but still - I'll take inspiration in whatever form it comes in!! Anyway, that's how this kit was born - by seeing all the cute clothes at the playground one day!

ScrapMatters is having a Speed Scrap on Tuesday evening at 9 p.m. Central Time HERE. These are so fun! If you've never done one go check out the forum to see the rules (there aren't that many) and come play with us tomorrow night! Plus, after an hour (or so) you'll have a page done!!! So fun!

I haven't been great about blogging lately. Sorry! I've been busy scrapping and designing - yes, I said designing. I'm totally addicted now! I've finished a whole kit - and it's huge - plus some little freebies. More on that to come later. : )

I've scrapped a lot of pages this week and printed a bunch too! Have I mentioned that my husband is the greatest lately? It's been so nice to get these pages out of my computer and into a book so the kids can actually see them - that's why I do this after all. For them. Here are a couple of the pages I've done this week.

This one was for the Tuesday Template Challenge at SM. Everything is from {Good Times} by Digi-Keepsakes by Monica. Monica also made the template.

This one was for the Saturday Special at SM using the title and lyrics of a song for your LO. It also just happened to also apply to the Scrap with the Sugar Babes challenge #32 at SSD. Yup, double duty - gotta love it! : )

This one was for the upcoming spotlight at Snap and Scrap. Everything is from the {Camo Girl} kit by Gillian Foley and the template is by Veronica Hurly. Works for boys too!

This is one of my all-time favorites! Plus it's actually a fairly recent picture - yippee! This was for the Cookie Decorating Challenge at SSD. Everything is from {Haute Spring} by Zoe Pearn, template by Aggie Aviso. SSD has great challenges and awesome templates every month!

The BEST present EVER!!!!

Oh, what a great man I have! My Mother's Day present was an Epson 1400 Large Format Printer! Yay! Now I can finally get all of my LOs off the computer and into the Scrapbooks! I've been printing all weekend and I am so in love with it! It's huge and takes up almost the whole table in my scraproom but I don't care - I'll work on the floor if I have to! I found some 13 x19 matte photo paper at Staples for a little under $1 a sheet. I think this will definitely be a better deal than sending everything to be printed through an online servce - in the long run anyway! I spent about $4 a print when I got a few pages printed at www.scrapbooksplease.com a few months ago plus S/H. And I just don't think a bound book would work for our family plus I already have so many scrapbooks I can't imagine finding space for books on top of them. Anyway, if you live around here and want to see what the final prints look like you're welcome to come over and check them out. They are FANTASTIC!!! I'd even be willing to print some pages for you if you wanted to pay for the paper. : )
