BIG ANNOUNCEMENT

May I have your attention please . . . I have a little announcement! Okay, maybe a BIG announcement. I'm going to be designing for ScrapMatters and Snap and Scrap! Different stuff at each place so go check out both of them!! Woo hoo!

Here's my debut kit at ScrapMatters - called {On The Playground}

Do you ever see one of your kids' shirts or something and think, "That would make a great background paper!" I do, all the time! Okay, so I'm a huge nerd that's totally addicted to scrapping, but still - I'll take inspiration in whatever form it comes in!! Anyway, that's how this kit was born - by seeing all the cute clothes at the playground one day!

Here's a little something I made with it. This is for the paper 2 digi challenge at Sweet Shoppe Designs. ~

This is a HUGE kit (4 separate downloads!!!) and it's ONLY available here at ScrapMatters. And for my loyal blog readers (yes, all three of you) I have a little freebie that coordinates with it!! Here ya go!

Freebie includes 4 checkerboard patterned textured papers, 3 inked acrylic flowers, 3 tags and 3 knotted ribbons. Enjoy! LINK HAS BEEN REMOVED.

Keep scrolling down to the previous post to check out my debut freebie at Snap and Scrap!

I know, I know. . .

I haven't been great about blogging lately. Sorry! I've been busy scrapping and designing - yes, I said designing. I'm totally addicted now! I've finished a whole kit - and it's huge - plus some little freebies. More on that to come later. : )

I've scrapped a lot of pages this week and printed a bunch too! Have I mentioned that my husband is the greatest lately? It's been so nice to get these pages out of my computer and into a book so the kids can actually see them - that's why I do this after all. For them. Here are a couple of the pages I've done this week.

This one was for the Tuesday Template Challenge at SM. Everything is from {Good Times} by Digi-Keepsakes by Monica. Monica also made the template.

This one was for the Saturday Special at SM using the title and lyrics of a song for your LO. It also just happened to also apply to the Scrap with the Sugar Babes challenge #32 at SSD. Yup, double duty - gotta love it! : )

click LO for credits

This one was for the upcoming spotlight at Snap and Scrap. Everything is from the {Camo Girl} kit by Gillian Foley and the template is by Veronica Hurly. Works for boys too!

This is one of my all-time favorites! Plus it's actually a fairly recent picture - yippee! This was for the Cookie Decorating Challenge at SSD. Everything is from {Haute Spring} by Zoe Pearn, template by Aggie Aviso. SSD has great challenges and awesome templates every month!

This one is also from a SSD challenge called Treat of the Month. Everything is from {Life is Good} by Amanda Heimann. click on LO for credits and scraplift credits

So that's what I've been up to this week. Hope you are all having fun out there in digi-land too. Be sure and stop by my sister Brianne's scrapblog and pick up a cool little freebie she made! I hope to have a little freebie for you next week too - stay tuned! Now, I've got to go play with my real scrapping supplies and come up with something for cardswap. Hmmmmm.......

The BEST present EVER!!!!

Oh, what a great man I have! My Mother's Day present was an Epson 1400 Large Format Printer! Yay! Now I can finally get all of my LOs off the computer and into the Scrapbooks! I've been printing all weekend and I am so in love with it! It's huge and takes up almost the whole table in my scraproom but I don't care - I'll work on the floor if I have to! I found some 13 x19 matte photo paper at Staples for a little under $1 a sheet. I think this will definitely be a better deal than sending everything to be printed through an online servce - in the long run anyway! I spent about $4 a print when I got a few pages printed at www.scrapbooksplease.com a few months ago plus S/H. And I just don't think a bound book would work for our family plus I already have so many scrapbooks I can't imagine finding space for books on top of them. Anyway, if you live around here and want to see what the final prints look like you're welcome to come over and check them out. They are FANTASTIC!!! I'd even be willing to print some pages for you if you wanted to pay for the paper. : )

High School Never Ends

Gasp! Actually I'm glad High School DOES end - who wants to do that forever?! Not me!

Britt-ish Designs and GG Digital Designs have teamed up for a fabulous new collab kit called "High School Never Ends." Check it out:

Isn't that soooo cute?! I thought I'd spare all of you the horrid and VERY 80's pictures of me in High School so I scrapped a LO using my very adorable daughter.

This kit is available only at ScrapMatters and it's on sale today! Click on the kit preview to go to the SM store and pick it up!

I need a nap!

Whew! Have you recovered from NSD? Sadly I didn't get to play along as much as I wanted with all the activities that day - soccer, dance, piano recital, primary prep., visiting family, etc. I was able to squeeze in some shopping though! Woohoo! I was also able to do the last speed scrap at ScrapMatters that night, and it was so fun! I've never done one before but I hope they do more of them!

Well, my little freebie (see previous post) has gotten added to Digital Freebies so it's been downloaded like crazy! Holy cow! I'm really surprised it got downloaded at all. It was barely anything! Anyway, just to answer a few of the questions that got posted about it:

This was my first try at designing anything. I just searched (and searched and searched. . . ) for some tutorials on how to make digi papers and stuff. Sorry, I don't even remember where I found them now! If I find the link again, I'll post it for anyone who wants it. Then I basically followed the directions. It really wasn't hard. The hardest part is getting everything how you want it to look and playing with the blending modes to get it to look right. Yes, I'm still using PSE 5.0. Photoshop CS3 is on my mother's day/birthday list but I'm a little afraid to switch. I guess I could use both but I'm afraid having both on my laptop will overload it! Although now that I have my trusty little EHD, maybe it won't be so bad. Anyway, I don't know if I will become an actual "Designer" - I need to try some more things first. I think I'd like too though. It was fun! But making a few papers and ribbons does not make me qualified to sell anything. Josh is definitely voting for me to make and sell stuff. He's says with as much time as I spend online we ought to get something out of it! Isn't that what the scrapbook pages are for?! Sheesh!

How about a little freebie to celebrate?!

Well, I've designed a little something for you that coordinates with the new ScrapMatters collab {Mother Nature}. There are 6 papers, 2 ribbons, 1 button, and a huge paper circle frame. Just click on the image above to download it! Enjoy and you know the drill - please don't re-distribute, yada - yada, just send your friends over here to get the link!
This HUGE kit is FREE with a $10 purchase - and you can get a TON for $10 with the huge sale going on over at SM! Don't wait though, after this weekend the kit will be in the store at full price!

Hope you have a great NSD!!

National Scrapbooking Day

My husband says it's not a real holiday but what the heck does he know?!!! There is going to be sooooo much stuff going on at all my favorite sites I just wish I didn't have about a hundred things already going on that day! : ( I'm going to squeeze time to scrap in there somewhere - I just don't know where or when yet. There are going to be lots of goodies for the downloading from every site too and LOTS of sales! Here are just a couple that I'll definitely be keeping an eye on:

GG Digital Designs will also be having a sale and a free gift with purchase. Check it out here.

ScrapMatters is also starting a cool new challenge called Queen of Scrap.

Here’s how you play along. It’s pretty easy – just post your NEWLY CREATED layouts in the Queen of Scrap (QOS) Challenge forum at SM. Post a minimum of 4 brand new layouts using at least 50% SM designers products (includes freebies!) and you’ll get a free participation gift by the ScrapMatters Design Team called “Renew”. Keep on posting as many NEW layouts as you can – the top poster will receive a $20 gift card to the ScrapMatters shop. Then the ScrapMatters.com Team will review the layouts for the top 5 posters and select one lucky person to be the“ Queen of Scrap”!

This lucky scrapper will not only win the title “Queen of Scrap” but, they will also win a one month guest spot on the ScrapMatters CT! That means lots of fun, and lots of new kits for you to scrap with!

How fun will this day be?! I'm so excited. My husband thinks I'm a geek, but then again, what the heck does he know?!!
